Sometimes asking your bridesmaids to pay for certain things can be a little difficult and sometimes it can

also get a little awkward especially when your expectations aren’t exactly what they had in mind and

they’re already doing so much to support you. In the mist of coordinating the bridal shower or anything

regarding their part in the wedding, be sure to be honest about what you expect from your girls, be up

front about any expenses associated with their commitment, and have an open mind to compromise

expected to pay for.

Hotel and Travel

Typically, transportation to the wedding and where your bridesmaids stay at is on them, but they should

be able to discuss any financial needs with you. Maybe you could consider going half way with them on

travel and accommodations. Even helping them out by reserving hotel room blocks so the prices are at

discount could be super beneficial.

Wedding Ensemble

Of course the bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories (including jewelry, unless you’re gifting it to

them) are their responsibility.

Bridal Shower

Bridal showers are always enjoyable to attend but not so pleasant when it’s time to pay for the bill. So

depending on who’s hosting the shower, your maid of honor and bridesmaids are more often expected

to pay for it. However, if your family is hosting/ co-hosting, a portion of the cost and responsibilities may

fall on them.

Bachelorette Party

Because they love you so much, your chicks are normally responsible for all decor, activities, food and

drinks on your hen night.

Wedding Present

Ultimately, your lovely bridesmaids are putting in a lot of money, time, and effort so don’t be shocked or

stung if they didn’t get you a wedding gift. If you prefer to receive one amazing gift over several smaller

ones, then they could surely plan on going in on one thing together.
